The Labour Court presided over by Justice Frank Rockson Aboadwe penalized UTAG with a cost of GHc3000 for the failure of the UTAG Lawyers to comply with appropriate legal procedures. This is under section 20 (14) of the rules that govern their application before the court.

The Commission obtained an interlocutory injunction from the court on Friday, August 6, to compel UTAG to end their strike, which began on Monday, August 2, 2021.

UTAG, on the other hand, has refused to obey the instruction, suggesting that the premise is erroneous.

While the NLC has stated that UTAG cannot continue on strike while negotiations with the government are ongoing, UTAG has stated that no meaningful negotiations are currently taking place.

Following that, UTAG filed a motion to vacate the injunction.
