Hon Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah on Saturday, April 30, 2022, joined the management, staff, students, and other stakeholders of Amedzofe College of Education (AMECO) in the Ho West Constituency to celebrate their Diamond Jubilee.

“Indeed, seventy-five (75) years of providing quality training in teacher education while upholding high moral standards as an institution is no mean achievement. It is, therefore, worth celebrating this milestone with the needed joy and gladness”, he stated in his goodwill message.

He further noted how the school has over the years churned out thousands of responsible citizens and a number of prominent Ghanaian professionals who started life as teachers for which reason we must all join in the celebration.

The MP commended in particular, the E.P. Church, Ghana for its significant contribution to the development of the country with the provision of schools, hospitals, and other social programs of which Hilltop University is just one.

In his conclusion, he mentioned that the success story of AMECO calls for a period of introspection. “It is time to carefully reflect on how far we have come as a training institution. This will provide the platform for stocktaking and forging ahead with new ideas, taking into account current trends in terms of educational innovation and technological advancement. We must not rest on our ores even as the education sector seems to be having real challenges right from elementary to tertiary levels. We must all begin to collaborate and fix the problems facing the education sector now.” – Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah

The Management of the institution presented a citation to the MP and his private firm in appreciation of their continued support and for building and handing over an LPG facility valued at GHC 30,000 as part of their CSR to the college in order to end the centuries-old tradition of using firewood at the college’s kitchen.

Hon. Bedzrah then joined mourners at Kpedze to bid farewell to the late Togbe Kelley IX, Dufia of Kpedze Sreme. He also visited the families of Atutornu and Agbefu at Honuta, Kotobisa at Klave, Afenu at Dzolokpuita and Agbewonye at Awudome-Kwanta to mourn with them over their loss. May the souls of all the departed rest in the bossom of the Almighty. Amen!
