The Ghana Flying Disc Association has successfully played an awareness flying disc game at the MacDan La Town Park with their friends from the US embassy.

The GFDA who hosted the game lost by 7 goals to 4. The game also served as the first official Ultimate Frisbee competition on the 4th of August 2021 at 3.00 pm prompt.

The Ghanaians showed a lot of skills and discipline which gave a good impression of themselves to Harmar home the official awareness of the sports in Ghana.

The match was also used to educate the general public on the Spirit of the game. In his short interview during media interactions, Desmond Mantey, the President of GFDA spoke about strategic plans in the pipeline to include all stakeholders in sports, the communities, and schools to make the game a household sport.

“In a broader sense, the GFDA is looking to promote the Ultimate Frisbee game to all regions in Ghana, and establish a professional coaching development and support system capable of developing world-class coaches and back up human resources as a succession plan for our youth in the Ultimate Frisbee”.

The tall and well build leader appealed to organizations and individuals to assist this laudable idea in diverse ways.

Mr. Gregory, a volunteer coach from the US Embassy in Ghana has been facilitating coaching programs within Ghanaian communities starting from the Greater Accra region and will catch up with other regions as well.

Duke Afotey took the opportunity to congratulate all those who helped with cash or kindness to make the event a successful one.” Today is a mighty breakthrough for GFDA and the international community is our target”.He reminded the team members of the motto of the association, “Our game Our passion” which inspires the spirit of the game.
