Four interns from the CVJM-Westbound in Germany left to the Ghana YMCA’s Eastern Regional Office in Koforidua for a one-week orientation to prepare them for their one-year stay in Ghana.

Two of the volunteers will be serving at the YMCA Vocational School in Takoradi while the other two will be serving at YMCA school at Mpraeso. This orientation is necessary to make the rest of their stay a successful one.

Svenja, an intern serving in the YMCA Vocational School in Takoradi shared her experience thus far.

“I have been teaching English while Marianne has been teaching mathematics. Despite the language barrier, we have also been able to learn the skill of sewing. Our stay here has been good so far because we also met some interesting young Ghanaians serving as National Service Personals,” said Svenja.

The Ghana YMCA is tremendously grateful to the CVJM-Westbound and the interns for the support and is fully committed to making their stay successful.
