Speaking at the just-ended one day workshop on sustainable Waste Management held in Abofuor-Dumasua, a twin community in the Ashanti region of Ghana on 28th August 2020, Mr. Lambert Donkor, the young quintessential speaker and advocate for disaster risk reduction, admonished the Chief of the area, Nana Kumaboah VI and his team of elders to lead the change they desire to see in their community for sustainable development.

Speaking at the gathering which saw key leaders from various groups in the community, he said ‘’Nana, as the Landlord of this area, you willed so much power than any other person, be it a politician, etc. however if this power in your hands does not reflect in transformational development of your community, then I’m afraid to humbly say you have limited the power of the potential you have to turn things around in the community. May it be told to the generations to come after us that there was a chief called Nana Kumaboah VI who had the Abofuor community at heart against all pressures of parochial interest, the reason we all see great developments from our sanitation conditions, etc. today’’

Nana Kumaboah VI in his remarks pledged allegiance to heed to the call to lead developments in his community and again has assured to set up a committee and a task force to be responsible for their sanitation needs in the area.

The event was jointly organized by Let’s Do It Ghana and FYDO Ghana as part of measures to raise awareness to mobilize for the World Clean UP Day slated for Saturday, September 19.
